There’s this misconception that a person have to be great to start do any particular thing in life that they want to accomplish. That’s false. This reminds me of when I was a little boy going to church with my mother. Everytime there was an alter call for someone, anyone to go up and give their life over to Christ. I’m a observer and I enjoyed looking around the church observing what others were doing and why they were doing it. I remember seeing some members of the church walk over to visitors and encourage them to walk up to the alter and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Some of the visitors would go because they were at a place in their life where they were tierd, beaten, battered and broken looking for a that grace and mercy, a second chance.
Now the others, it was ummmmmm interesting to witness. Not because they put up a fight or cause a scene or anything like that. It was interesting because of what they said. I remember hearing a women say naw I’m not ready to give my life over. I have to be right and holy like y’all before I can give my life over. I thought the way a human mind operates in a time of need was fascinating. You’re in a place of healing just like a hospital and a person believes that they already have to be healed in order to receive healing. The purpose for coming is to “come as you are but don’t leave the same way you came in” think about it.
I am literally sitting here thinking how ironic. The same way people view giving their life to Christ can be applied with pursuing goals, dreams, having ambitions and aspirations. Countless times I have heard people and myself was once a victim of making excuses for the reasons why we have not gone forward in life and went after what we truely desire.
I want to research and become knowledgeable on various topics but I don’t have a laptop.
You got a smart phone that’s a mini laptop within itself.
I want to exercise and lose weight, bulk and tone but I don’t have a gym membership.
You have outside, it’s free.
I want to cook a variety of simple and healthy meals. I can’t do it just yet because I need the special pots and pans that the chefs use.
Yet Walmart exist. Pots and pans don’t make good food. The cook makes good food.
I’m going to learn how to drive and get my license. First I need to purchase a car so I can have some thing to practice with.
There’s driving schools anf you may know people with cars who can take the time to teach you. All you have to do is ask.
You know the excuses that you and I have shows doubt and unbelief in our ability to go out and go after what we desire. We create a thousand excuses for accomplishing one task. And you know we have to stop that because we’re lacking hope. We are lacking in areas of our life that is meant for us. We are lacking the confidence and courage to go out and move heaven and hell just to go for what we deserve. The thing about it is we are lacking in the area of our life that’s who we are. That is simply great. Are we good enough. Hell yeah we are? Do we have what it takes? Hell yeah we do. Are we the right person for the job? You damn right we are. If your greatness is determined by the equipment that you need to start then you’re failing. If you’re not great without the equipment then you’re not great with the equipment.
Now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with having the equipment all this does is set you up for success. A person could have all the materials and still not know what to do with it. However the greatness that you are seeking and in search of does not come from having the equipment to start with. That greatness comes from you putting in that ground work, developing a sturdy foundation that you can build off of. You and I both have to understand that we were born with greatness in us. The only way for it to truely manifest is for us to start with what we have.
See on this quest to become great you and I have made this mistake of looking at other establish people; desiring to be at the level that they are at. When we act this way there is a level of underminding and being unappreciative toward what we have that no one else can possess.
The lack of appreciation comes from us being ignorant (simply means not to know) of what we have because we are constantly looking at others to see what they have that we don’t have. What are they doing that we are not doing? Where are they in their life that we are not in our life currently? Why are they able to have access to their greatness and we are still struggling? Who are they and who are we not? How are they able and how come we are not able? Constantly we’re using another person’s success as the measuring stick for our life.
Stop it you are going to fail Everytime. This is not a equipment thing nor another person’s possession thing. This is a mental thing. “What the mind believes the body achieves.”
If you believe that you need materials, equipments, substance, etc then the body will achieve it. But you can never get the credit that you deserve because you needed a place holder so you could escape reality to asend to such great levels. So really was that you who performed it?? Do you know what you are capable of without a false sense of courage.
Look we are all born with greatness within us. It’s just a matter of taking a little and developing it into alot.
